The Historian (2005): The story of Dracula has gone through many iterations and adaptations but Elizabeth Kotsova’s novel is one of the best. The novel blends history and folklore of Vlad Tepes and his fictional counterpart Count Dracula. She was inspired by the various stories of Dracula told by her father when she was a child. It is the story of a young woman who looks to find answers of her family’s dark connections with an inconceivable evil in her family’s history. It is a well-crafted literary novel with a unique take on the legend of Dracula.
