This event mixes traditional Balkan music with Indian classical
A previous performance of Zariya
With 30 years of experience in their respective fields, Kathak dancer Indrayanee Mukherjee and Indian vocalist Sabiha Khan launched Zariya, a platform to encourage innovative collaborations with varied musicians and dance artistes. This time they have connected with Slovenian musical artistes, Semsudin Dzopa and Tilen Stepisnik, and together, they will perform a fusion concert and dance performance where the audience can witness Balkan music blending with Indian classical, Sufi and folk. “The audience will be regaled with earthy notes. The fusion will place eclectic music and Sufi soulful chords together. Each set will be sensorially profound,” assures Mukherjee.

The performance will see Khan and Manoj Desai on vocals, while Vinayak Netke and Pratik Shreevastava will play Indian musical instruments. The Slovenian guitarist duo will perform with their group, and Mukherjee will bring the stage alive with her dance moves. “The aim and vision of Zariya is joy. In a world full of chaos, Zariya tries to bring a moment of reprieve and happiness through the music and presentations we showcase,” she signs off.
