Some people argue that mainstream music is as contrived as a rexine jacket being passed off for genuine leather. These listeners would pooh-pooh at Drake’s new EP, Scary Hours 2. Drake, of course, is the global hip-hop mainstay responsible for dance-floor scorchers like Hotline Bling. But here’s what. One man’s meat is another man’s poison. The cynics might scoff at commercial music, even as millions of others lap it up. So who do you side with in that case? The answer is simple. You side with the music. If you enjoy it, like I did with Scary Hours 2, that really, is all that matters.
