17-year-old Kandivli student brutally assaulted by college seniors; FIR filed against 6

On March 10, a group of students rained blows on Yuvraj Chaurasiya and kicked him outside the college gate

The Kandivali police on Thursday registered an FIR against six people for allegedly assaulting a 17-year-old Kandivli college student. 


Yuvraj Chaurasiya was brutally assaulted by his college seniors, who, he claims, often teased and humiliated him for his long hair. The incident happened right outside KES Junior College of Arts and Commerce premises on March 10 and was caught on CCTV camera.


On March 10, a group of students rained blows on Yuvraj Chaurasiya and kicked him outside the college gate. The assault lasted an entire minute, leading to injuries all over his face.


"We have registered the case and arrested two students including Ankit Pravin Jha and Saurabh Singh. Further investigation is underway," said Dinkar Jadhav, senior inspector at Kandivli police station.

Both Jha and Singh are the students of KES College and are Chaurasiya’s seniors, said another officer.

The Kandivli police registered an FIR under sections 325, 341, 323, 504, 143, 147, 149, and 506 (2) of Indian Penal Code against Jha, Singh, and four unknown persons
