36-year-old government employee jumps to death from Mumbai building

The Antop Hill police station registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) as a 36-year old man allegedly committed suicide on February 4. The man had been identified as Panjak Keshav and he worked in the Central Public Works Department.

According to the police, the deceased was suffering from mental health conditions, “The deceased had mental health conditions. He suffered from hallucinations and always thought that someone is following him. He decided to take extreme step on January 4 in Sai Co-operative Housing Society by jumping off from the 4th floor of the building", said an police officer.

The police registered an ADR case after recording the statement of the family members of the deceased. “The family had sort to get him treated in a rehabilitation centre, however he got scared and decided to take such extreme steps. The family did not suspect any foul play either, hence an ADR case had been registered", said a police officer.

Meanwhile, the Crime Branch Unit 10 apprehended an accused in Dadar who allegedly fled from the custody of Sakinaka police. “The accused had been identified as Shagun Yadav (20). She was arrested by the Sakinaka police as she was involved in robbing a phone. However on February 1, she fled from the custody of the police", said senior police inspector, Deepak Sawant.

According to the police, Yadav did not use any phone after fleeing from the custody of the Sakinaka police. The crime branch questioned her relatives and then checked the CCTV footage of different railway stations.

Around 60 CCTV footage of Ghatkopar, Vidyavihar and various other stations were checked and she was then traced near Dadar Railway station. "We then checked the nearby areas and found her near Tata Hospital, Parel and detained her and handed over to the Sakinaka police for further investigation", said an officer.

Yadav (20) had been booked by Sakinaka under section 392 (robbery), 34 (Common intention) and 224 (Resistance or obstruction by a person in his or her lawful apprehension).
