G Srinivas Rao, the officer, was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 10,000 from Prabhakar Reddy, producer of the film 'Andala Chandamma', for issuing 'U' certificate, CBI superintendent of police Chandrasekhar told PTI.
"He had demanded Rs 1 lakh and was going to take Rs 10,000 today as first installment. Reddy lodged a complaint with CBI following which Rao was caught red-handed at his office. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act," the SP said.
