Cops suspect he may have supplied the firearm used in the killing of Dabholkar
The police custody of notorious arms dealer Manish Ramvilas Nagori (24) was extended by a week by the Judicial Magistrate(First Class) K M Pingle yesterday.
Nagori along with Rahul Sakharam Mali (21), Vikas Ramavatar Khandelwal (22) and Santosh alias Sunny Ananta Bagade (22), all residents of Ichalkaranji in Kolhapur, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of Prahlad Jogdandkar, a security guard at University of Pune (UoP) who was killed last year. Jogdandkar was shot dead on the night of May 3, 2012 in the UoP campus.
Nagori and his accomplices are being interrogated by the Crime Branch sleuths. Investigations so far have revealed that Nagori and his accomplices were using 13 SIM cards of different telecom companies and he had sold 47 firearms to various persons across the state.

Police believe that Nagori may have supplied firearms to the assailants who shot dead Dabholkar on August 20 this year. While requesting their police custody, public prosecutor Gauri Lakde told the court: “Police have to verify all illegal arms deals that Nagori is suspected to be involved in. Also his movements after the crime have to be ascertained.”
Police inspector Arun Walture, of the Crime Branch, said, “Police teams have been dispatched to Satara, Kolhapur, Karad and Hatkanangle to investigate Nagori’s illegal arms deals.”
Meanwhile, police are yet to recover the weapon used in the Jogdandkar murder case and are also on the lookout for Nagori’s wife Heena who is absconding.
Heena is presently out on bail for another offence.u00a0
