Man sets wife on fire in Gujarat

A man allegedly set his wife on fire for disagreeing with his choice of youth with whom he wanted his daughter to marry, police said.

The accused, identified as Jagdish Makwana, who hails from Hanumanpura village, allegedly set his wife ablaze Monday after a heated exchange over the choice of the boy for his 18-year-old daughter, they said.

The victim Madhuben (39) succumbed to her injuries at a hospital here yesterday.

Police registered a case under section 302 (murder) of IPC against Makwana.
