A day after 65-year-old building contractor Tej Bahadur Singh Thakur, was shot in the head near his residence in Limayewadi, off Tilak Road in Sadashiv Peth, police are clueless about the motive behind the murder.
At 9 pm on Saturday, four unidentified assailants had shot dead Thakur and fled away. “We have formed a team to identify and nab the assailants. CCTV footage of some shops at Tilak road will also be checked,” said DCP Makarand Ranade of Zone I. He said that the motive is still unknown.u00a0

But, the police suspect the murder to be fallout of a dispute over property. Thakur, who hails from Uttarakhand, was a resident of Limayewadi since 27 years and owned a bungalow in the vicinity. The deceased used to live with his wife and daughter.u00a0
