A police patrol party signaled a white Maruti car to stop for checking on Gang Nehar road this morning. Upon interrogation, the car driver Mauzuddin told police that he is taking his ailing wife for a check-up, Subodh Kumar Saxena, SHO of Murad Nagar police station, said.
Police got suspicious and peeped inside the car to verify whether the lady lying on the back seat clad in a 'burqa' is actually ill. To their astonishment, the cops noticed a 'black beard' piercing out of the 'burqa' following which all the four passengers were detained, he said.
Upon interrogation, Mauzuddin confessed that last night Rabia served a sedative laced drink to her husband Dilshad, an iron merchant in Delhi, as she suspected that he was having extra-marital affairs.
"Today morning, I along with my wife Habiba and a friend Noor Mohammad strangled Dilshad and planned to throw his dead body in Gang Nehar at Murad Nagar," Mauzuddin said. The body has been sent for post-mortem and all the four accused have been arrested, Saxena added.
