Ambulance hits bike; one killed, 2 injured

Man died on the spot, while the condition of 10-year-old is critical; accused out on bail

A 53-year-old man was killed and two persons, including a minor, were injured, after an ambulance rammed into their bike at Kasa village, Palghar, on Thursday, late night. Kasa police have registered a hit and run case and had arrested the driver. The accused has been released on bail. Police said the ambulance driver was speeding and knocked the vehicle into the bike at Burhanpur-Chinchpada highway. 

The deceased Tukaram Babu Shelar, 53, was a resident of Chinchpada at Kasa, Palghar. He, along with his wife Tanuja Shelar and his niece Gauri Milind Shelar were returning after attending a family function, when the accident took place. Tukaram died on the spot, while the condition of 10-year-old Gauri is critical. Tanuja's is out of danger, said the police officers.
