An unidentified bike-borne man allegedly snatched a gold chain worth Rs 45,000 from a 30-year-old man near Link Road on Sunday night.

The incident occurred at around 10.30 pm near the MTNL signal.

The victim, Saideep Desai, was attacked by an unknown biker, while he was returning from Juhu Chowpati along with his female friend on a bicycle.

"It was terrible. The biker attacked me, forcefully took my neck chain and escaped from the location. He pulled the chain with so much force that we fell down and got hurt,” Desai told midday.

The biker could not be identified as he was covered with a mask and helmet. “I chased the biker for two kilometers, but he managed to flee. Also, I could not identify the vehicle number as there was a sticker on the number plate,” he added.

The Khar Police has registered an FIR against the unidentified man. “We have the CCTV  footage, but the number of the vehicle is not visible. Our teams will soon be able to crack this case,” a police official said.
