A 56-year-old anesthesiologist gave a heavy dose of anaesthetics to his daughter and wife, before killing himself at his Vile Parle residence. While the daughter was declared dead, the police said that his wife survived, as she was injected with a lower dose. She is currently being treated at Cooper Hospital.

The incident took place earlier this week. The doctor, identified only as Patil, was a resident of Prathana Samaj Society at Vile Parle East, where he lived with his 50-year-old wife and 30-year-old daughter.
