Kandivli crime: Man held for running clinic with fake medical degree for 20 years

Mumbai Crime Branch on Wednesday arrested a 45-year-old fake doctor who possessed fake medical certificates and equipment.


The accused, identified as Masihuddin Abdul Hai Khan (45), was running a clinic at Kandivali West since last 20 years, the crime branch officials said. 


The crime branch took the help of the BMC R/South ward and conducted a raid at Shama Health Care at Candy Compound in Gandhi Nagar. Police seized fake degrees, medicines, and medical equipment from the clinic. 


According to API, Abhijeet Jadhav of Unit XI he had received a tip-off that a Kandivali-based doctor is practicing at a clinic with a fake certificate. API set-up a team including ASI Kamble, Constable Gaikwad, Police Naik Keni, Police Naik Madam and took the help of the R/south ward Doctor Neelam Dalvi. The raid was conducted on Wednesday afternoon.

"The crime branch officer arrested the accused Masiuddin Abdul Hai Khan (45) under section IPC 419, 420 of section 35, 36 of medical Practitioner's Act," and handed him to the Kandivli police station for the further investigation,”  said senior Police Inspector Vinayak Chavan of Unit XI crime branch.
