Acting on information that three Kenyan women travelling from Doha to Mumbai were carrying drugs concealed in their stomachs, a team of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) intercepted them at the international airport. However, they later found out that the women were carrying gold worth Rs 50 lakh wrapped in plastic and hidden in their vaginal and rectal cavities.

When the NCB officials questioned the three suspects and checked their bags, they did not find anything, but they became suspicious when the trio started to feel unwell and requested for medical help. Accordingly, they were taken to JJ Hospital. Medical examination revealed that they had hidden something in their private parts.

The officials said that a total of 937.78 gms of gold were recovered from them. About 17 pieces of the metal were concealed in 13 packets. The drug cops added that all the gold had been recovered and the suspects would be discharged from the hospital after further proceedings.
