Maharashtra: Man held for stealing gold from Jain temple in Bhayander

A Maharashtra man who pilfered 12 grams of gold from a Jain temple in Bhayander was arrested by the police.

A man who pilfered 12 grams of gold from a Jain temple in Bhayander was arrested by the police. Naresh Agarchand Jain, the accused, stole gold belonging to a deity in a Jain temple in Balaji Complex on 90 Feet Road in Bhayander West; he was arrested at Marine Lines station. The accused has been placed in police custody for a period of two days.


A case of theft was registered at the LT Marg Police Station and Navghar. Prior to the incident, Jain had attempted stealing from a different location, however, did not succeed. Subsequently, he pursued his illicit activities elsewhere and absconded with the gold from the temple.


Upon receiving information about the theft, the Bhayander Police Station registered a case. They conducted a comprehensive investigation of the crime scene and scanned CCTV camera footage from Bhayander Railway Station, Borivali, Andheri, Marine Lines, ultimately locating and arresting the accused at his residence in Marine Lines.
