A 22-year-old man who had been on the run after allegedly killing his mother and attacking his father in Maharashtra's Palghar two years ago, has been arrested from West Bengal, police said on Tuesday.

Based on a tip-off, the accused Janmesh Pawar was apprehended in Kolkata on Monday, deputy commissioner of police zone-III Prashant Wagunde said.

The accused had a financial dispute with his parents and attacked them with an iron hammer, knife and screwdriver on January 29, 2019, the official said.
