Police have arrested a 46-year-old man for allegedly hacking to death his wife with an axe after a fight in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/palghar-womans-body-with-wound-marks-found-on-a-hillock-23351749" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Maharashtra's Palghar district</a>, an official said on Thursday, reported news agency PTI.
The incident took place on Wednesday at Durvesh village in Manor area, he said.

The man doubted his 44-year-old wife's character which led to frequent quarrels between them, the official from <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-man-seeks-sexual-favours-from-palghar-woman-killed-by-her-male-friend-23351642" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">police control room</a> told PTI.
They again had a fight over the issue on Wednesday following which the man allegedly attacked his wife multiple times with an axe. The woman died on the spot, he said.

The Manor police rushed to the spot after receiving information and sent the body to a <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/palghar-fishermans-body-who-died-in-pakistan-jail-to-be-brought-home-23346318" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">government hospital</a> for postmortem.
The man was arrested and booked under Indian Penal Code section 302 (murder), the official said.&nbsp;

In another incident, a woman's body with injury marks was found near a hillock in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-palghar-man-found-dead-in-car-parked-on-hotel-premises-23343341" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Maharashtra's Palghar district</a>, an official said on Wednesday, reported PTI.
Locals spotted the body of the unidentified woman, aged 35-40 years, within the limits of the Pelhar police station on Tuesday, he said, reported PTI.
The body was shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem and a case was registered under IPC section 302 (murder), he said, adding that a probe is underway.
Meanwhile, a 48-year-old man was allegedly killed for making advances on the girlfriend of another man in Palghar district of Maharashtra, police said on Tuesday, reported PTI.
The body of Ramesh Balan Nayar was found on a hillock, reported PTI.
Acting on a tip-off, police traced one Govind Khaniya alias Bhurya, who told police that Nayar used to tease his girlfriend and also made advances towards her, reported PTI.
"Bhurya called Nayar to a hillock where he punched him," an official said, reported PTI.
Police had found the unidentified body on April 14 and registered a case of accidental death.
Police have now added a murder charge to the FIR.
