A biker and the pillion rider died after being hit by a speeding crane on Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred around 10.30 am when Govandi resident Komal Yadav (36) and his associate Kanchan Gupta (35) were on their way to office in Kurla.

When they reached Santacruz - Chembur Link road, Komal received a phone call and he stopped the two-wheeler on the side to receive the call.

A crane, coming from behind, rammed into the bike. Passers-by rushed the victims to the hospital where they were declared brought dead.
