Following mid-day’s report about a video where history-sheeter Shams Sayyed alias Johnny was seen along with his son, playing with several wads of cash, police sent him a notice on Thursday, demanding an explanation for the source of the money. Johnny has over 10 cases registered against him at various city police stations and is currently out on bail in an attempt to murder case. He had himself uploaded the video on social media.

mid-day had reached out to Joint Commissioner of Police (law and order) Vishwas Nangare Patil about the video. Nangare Patil, in turn, asked Additional Commissioner of Police (south region) Satyanarayan Chaudhary to verify its details.
