The Kandivli police on Monday detained a 16-year-old for allegedly stealing 26 high-end bicycles from the western suburbs. The accused, a school student, was hooked to drugs and was in dire need of money to fund his habits. The cost of the bicycles collectively is nearly Rs 4 lakh, an officer said.
According to a report in Times of India, the alleged incident came to light on March 16 when a businesswoman lodged a complaint at Kandivli police station about the theft. In her complaint, the woman, who lives in a highrise on Kandivli Link Road, said that her bicycle was stolen between 4.30 pm and 6.20 pm from the society`s parking lot.
