A 20-year-old girl alleged that a corporator from Mira-Bhaynder Municipal Corporation allegedly molested her. The girl lives in the same society where the corporator resides.

On October 18, an argument took place between the complainant and the corporator about playing a particular song during Navratri celebrations. The argument soon turned heated and corporator Daulat Gajare's wife Kamal and his daughter  beat up the complainant. Corporator Gajare, allegedly encouraged the duo to thrash the victim.
