Action against drug smugglers increased after the drug angle in the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June last year.
According to sources, these foreign nationals operate in an organised manner. During the interrogation of a Nigerian drug smuggler, identified as Chukwa Emeka Ogboma, who was caught from Vasai, it was found that he was delivering drugs from a call centre.
Mumbai NCB Zonal Director Samir Wankhede said, “These foreign nationals work like a syndicate. They tear [and destroy] all their documents. If caught, it becomes difficult to prove which country they belong to.”
