The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Police arrested a man for allegedly planning to plant drugs in a local politician’s car to help his brother take over the politician’s post in South Mumbai.

According to the ANC, on January 9, Ayaz Mandiwala (46) was arrested and 150 grams of mephedrone was seized from him.

During the investigation it was revealed that Mandiwala was allegedly paid to plant the drugs in the vehicle of an NCP member, who is an official in South Mumbai.

Later, the police arrested five persons in connection with the case and they have been booked under Section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code along with sections of the NDPS Act.
