A house-shifting job turned into a theft case in Andheri West when a mover–packer’s employee allegedly stole silver coins from a businessman’s home. Two gold coins kept in the same house temple remain missing. Anantkamal Srivastava 37, who runs an event management business, had earlier lived on rent elsewhere in Andheri before hiring Unity Packers and Movers, run by Jabir Shaikh, to shift him and his father to Neminaath Luxury.
On November 2, six workers packed household items, including the temple, where two gold coins and two silver coins, each weighing 10 grams, were kept in a drawer. Five workers transported the items in a tempo to the new residence. Meanwhile, employee Abhishek Tiwari left in an autorickshaw along with Srivastava’s domestic help, Sharif and their family pet. However, midway, Tiwari got off the rickshaw, saying he wanted to buy vada pav, and never returned.
