Mumbai: Struggling actress kills herself at hotel room in Lokhandwala

According to the police, it is suspected that the deceased was allegedly in depression due to not getting work in the film industry from past few months. The Versova police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the matter and is further investigating the matter

Mumbai: Struggling actress kills herself at hotel room in Lokhandwala

A 40-year-old struggling actress allegedly killed herself in a hotel in Lokhandwala, Andheri in Mumbai on Wednesday late night, the police said. 


According to the police, it is suspected that the deceased was allegedly in depression due to not getting work in the film industry from past few months. The Versova police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the matter and is further investigating the matter.


An official said, she was a resident of Yamuna Nagar society in Lokhandwala. Versova police also found a suicide note from the hotel room in which the actress wrote that nobody is responsible for her death. The police sent her body for postmortem and is awaiting for the report.

The official added, the actress had booked a room in the hotel. She checked-in on Wednesday at night around 8 pm. Primary investigations revealed that she also called for food and had ate dinner at the hotel room. However, in morning when the hotel staff rang the bell, she did not open the door. The staff became suspicious and they later informed the police which opened the door using a masterkey and found her hanging from the ceiling fan. 

"Police rushed her to the hospital where she was declared dead before admission," a police officer said.
