A three-and-a-half-month old girl was kidnapped by a woman, who posed as a hawker selling utensils in exchange for old mobile phones, from Kalachowki on Tuesday. The police have formed seven teams to look for the child and found CCTV footage where the accused is seen with the child. “It has been over 30 hours, I don’t even know if my baby was given food or not,” the child’s father Bajrang Magdum told mid-day. 

According to the police complaint, the incident took place around 12 noon when the child and her mother Sapna were alone at home. A hawker came to their house, offering utensils in exchange for old mobile phones. When Sapna went inside to get the phone, the accused approached her from behind and covered her nose with a cloth, making her unconscious. The accused then fled with the girl.
