Navi Mumbai Police seized mephedrone worth Rs 50 lakh on Thursday. They subsequently arrested a 28-year-old man who was found possessing the banned drug, reported PTI.

According to the report, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Navi Mumbai police had caught the accused identified as Arshad Karar Khan near a bridge on the Kalamboli-Shilphata road in Taloja on Wednesday evening based on the intelligence inputs they received.
The accused, who is a resident of Khoni village in the Dombivli area of Thane district, was found to have 500 grams of MD (mephedrone) narcotic, according to a Taloja police station official.
As per the PTI report, the accused has been booked by Navi Mumbai police under relevant sections of IPC and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS). The official further stated that they were investigating the origin of the recovered contraband and the intended buyer.
