After their arrest by the Thane police on Sunday, Ashwajit Gaikwad, son of Anilkumar Gaikwad, managing director of MSRDC, and his companions Romil Patil and Sagar Shelke, were released on bail on Monday in the assault case of social media influencer Priya Singh. Ashwajit and his friends allegedly assaulted Singh and ran Ashwajit’s SUV over her in Thane on December 11.

The trio appeared before a Thane court on Monday and was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. They were subsequently granted bail by First Class Judicial Magistrate PS Dhumal after their lawyer Baba Sheikh moved an application. They posted a bail bond of R15,000 each. Sheikh said in the plea, “All sections in the case are bailable and their [police] custody was not needed for interrogation.”
