In the second supplementary chargesheet, which is more than 1,800 pages, Arnab Goswami, editor-in-chief of Republic TV, and six others have been named as accused.
The dismissed API Sachin Waze had initially investigated the case and after his arrest by NIA in SUV bomb scare-Mansukh Hiran murder case, there were allegations that he took money from the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC).
The crime branch believes that there is strong digital and documentary evidence against Arnab Goswami.
The alleged fake TRP scam came to light in October last year when the rating agency BARC filed a complaint through Hansa Research Group (HRG), alleging that certain television channels were rigging TRP numbers.
