Cops claim the 26/11 'star' witness is cooking up stories and misleading everyone

Yesterday, she floated a fresh theory claiming that she was escorted to the US by four federal agents and flown back after recording her statement.

Anita told MiD DAY, "The FBI officers had took me along with them on Sunday morning to America for enquiry. After a 17-hours journey, they recorded my statement."

She added, "They provided me with food, but I did not like it and told them to escort me back to India. The statement took two to three hours, and later I was brought back to India."

However, police inspector G M Kavde of Cuffe Parade police station said that Anita does not have a passport. "For all the passport applications, she has to visit the police station. How can she get a passport otherwise?"

He added, "Earlier, she said that she had gone to Satara, and now, she is lying." The police claim that the woman is crazy and misleading everyone by making false statements.

Flip-flop statements

MiD DAY had reported yesterday that Anita was not missing, but had gone to visit her relatives in Satara. In fact, she had visited her husband Rajendra, who is admitted at St George Hospital, on Sunday and told him that she was travelling to Satara. Yesterday, she changed her story again and claimed to have visited the US with four federal agents.

Earlier, Joint Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria had said that they would book her under section 182 of the Indian Penal Code and arrest her.
