Shiney Ahuja would've been able to go home to his family yesterday, but for the bail papers not being ready.

And with the courts being shut on Gandhi Jayanti today, he won't come out of Arthur Road jail until tomorrow.
"But it doesn't matter. I've waited three months. I don't mind waiting one more day," said his wife Anupam.
Anupam said she was so shocked to hear about the bail that she didn't know how to react.

"It just goes to prove that the law of the country is trustworthy. I have a feeling Shiney will never have to go back to jail. God has tested us enough."

The Case So Far
Shiney was arrested on June 14 after his housemaid (18), told the police that he had raped her in his apartment when it was empty.

Medical tests confirmed the rape, but his wife Anupam claimed he was innocent. Certain reports also claimed that Shiney had confessed to the crime during initial interrogation.
When Shiney appeared at the Sewri fast track court last Saturday, he was in pain due to a slipped disc and burst into tears.
The court ordered medical treatment for him. Charges are likely to be framed against Shiney on October 7.
