The Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) has won a decisive majority in the Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation elections, claiming 71 out of 115 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 43 seats. Veteran leader Hitendra Thakur retained his stronghold, ensuring BVA’s continued dominance in the city.
The BVA emerged victorious in wards 1, 3, 4, 6-01, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21-03, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29, including four wards where the party panel candidates were elected. The BJP won in wards 2, 5, 6-03, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21-01, 22, and 23.
