13 per cent turnout in Mumbai

According to the poll day report of the Election Commission Mumbai witnessed 13 per cent voter turnout till 11 am on Thursday. Mumbai South was lowest with 11 per cent, while Mumbai North West saw highest voter turnout at 16.46 percen. The overall voting percentage at 11 am was recroded 12.59 which also includes Thane and Kalyan constituencies.

Anil Ambani was one of the first to cast his vote from Mumbai South when the voting began at 7 am on Thurday. Congress NCP candidate Milind Deora too cast his vote. "In Mumbai South voter turnout is more in the morning. We are expecting people with turn up to cast their vote as the day progresses," an election officer said.
