The revamped Mumbai-Pune Deccan Queen Express coloured in ‘Restrained Imperium’ shade has finally arrived. Of the 17 coaches, 16 arrived on Saturday evening. However, the star attraction, the dining car, is yet to arrive and is expected to reach Mumbai by early March.

The 17-car Deccan Queen is the only train in the country which has a dining car, with a seating capacity of 40 diners, for regular passenger use. mid-day has been following up on developments related to the train since February 2019.  The train is now being upgraded with German-design Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches.
