Officials appeal people to get vaccinated as city records 2 more Omicron cases

Man who arrived from Johannesburg on Nov 25 and friend who returned from US on the same day return positive for new variant

Two more cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 were detected in Mumbai on Monday, taking the state tally to 10. As per the report given by the National Institute of Virology, samples of a 37-year-old man and his 36-year-old friend tested positive for the variant. A state health official said both of them have been admitted to the SevenHills hospital. 

The 37-year-old returned to Mumbai on November 25 from Johannesburg, South Africa and tested positive at the screening in the airport.
