The proceedings in the much-awaited trial of the 26/11 terror attacks will begin today.

The trial court is likely to open the sealed envelopes containing the confession statement of prime accused Mohammed Ajmal Kasab. The matter pertaining to appointing a defence lawyer for the accused will also be decided today.

"The case would be heard in the morning session. In the first hearing of the case the court will open the confessional statement of Kasab. We would be asking for a copy of the same," said Ujwal Nikam, special public prosecutor in the case.
