A 35-year-old biker from Bhiwandi died on Sunday after his Triumph Daytona motorcycle skidded and a truck ran him over. The incident happened in the morning near Shahapur, Thane.

Muhammed Sahil alias Sehar, 35, sustained severe injuries in the accident and died on the way to a nearby hospital. He would have lived had he been brought in on time, the doctors told his friends.

Every Saturday and Sunday, Sahil along with a group of bikers from Bhiwandi and nearby areas would ride to Igatpuri for breakfast. On Sunday, too, they had gone to Igatpuri and while returning home, his bike skidded and came under the rear wheels of the truck, said a police source.

Sahil, a medical representative who lived in Rasulabad Khadipar area of Bhiwandi, is survived by his wife and two children, aged 11 and eight.
