A poster declaring the missing seven-year-old Sahil Dalvi was put up by his father, Ankush |
Sahil, a second standard student of St Xavier's High School, was apparently last seen on Tuesday morning (Feb 3), at around 10.30 am.
Since the incident, his father Ankush, who has lodged a missing persons report in MIDC police station, has been going around the city sticking hundreds of posters of his missing son, hoping to trace him.
Sunday MiD DAY noticed one such poster near Andheri-Vikroli Link Road, near SEEPZ. Reluctant to speak to the press, Ankush who works for a construction company, said that he was at his wit's end, trying to console his grieving wife.
"My life revolves around making rounds of the police station, holy places and waiting for my son to return home hail and hearty. Ab kis taraf jaoon, samajh nahin aataa."
Sahil's mother Manisha said that life had come to a standstill. She says, "We stay on the sixth floor, so there did not seem to be a need to escort the child for his tuitions, as they are in the same building. I panicked when Sahil did not return home even an hour later. That was when we approached his friends and school authorities and eventually lodged the police complaint. It is unlikely that a seven-old-boy would decide to simply walk away from home or vanish into thin air."
His teachers described Sahil as a sweet, bubbly child, who was quite popular. "We start our day in the school with a special prayer for his safe return," said a teacher, who did not wish to be named.
When contacted, a duty officer at MIDC police station stated that the case was being investigated and evidence collected to trace the missing boy.
