Chakraborty added that it was he who first filed the petition challenging Roy's appointment as state DGP with the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) and that the CAT passed an order setting aside appointment of Roy.
"The police force is based on chain of commands on the basis of seniority. I was the original petition in the CAT and the government had challenged CAT judgment and today high court has given me justice," Chakraborty said.
Since the high court has given state government four weeks time to appointing the new DGP, Chakraborty is also ready to fight his case in the Supreme Court, if today's order is challenged.
Chakraborty said, "All I have to say is justice prevails."
We tried reaching Roy and state home minister Jayant Patil but both were not available for comments.
