A British Airways flight BA138 carrying 207 passengers made an emergency landing at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 4.10 am on Thursday.

The flight had taken off at 3 am when it was recalled after a fire warning light in the cockpit. On landing, the pilot requested safety jeep to inspect undercarraige for any damage due to fire. No damage was found by safety jeep.

Aircraft was parked on Bay No 11 at the 4.24 am. "Full emergency has be withdrawn," said Mumbai International Airport Limited spokesman Manish Kalghatgi.

According to sources, the flight in air even threw nearly 1.5 lakh liter of the fuel in the sea.

On September 4 an engine of the Air India flight caught fire. A major mishap, however, was avoided.
