Thirty-five years after leaving school in Std VII, gangster Ashwin Naik (49) went back to Dr Antonio Da Silva High School and Jr College of Com-merce, Dadar, yesterday to collect his leaving certificate.
At 11 am, Naik and his entourage of three cars entered the school gates. "Naik came in with two bodyguards. He was asked to wait on the ground floor since he is in a wheelchair.

After 10 minutes, the principal handed him the certificate. He left immediately after that," said a peon.

After leaving the school in 1974, Naik joined the technical school run by the same management and completed his diploma in civil engineering.

"Two weeks ago, I spoke to the school authorities with my request, and subsequently they phoned me," said Naik.
Principal Mary Narona, said, "Several former students come to collect their leaving certificates like Naik. I don't want to comment further."
