The Juhu police have arrested two persons in an extortion case. The complainant, Rajiv Thakkar, works in a private firm. According to API Santosh Bhalekar, Thakkar received a call on December 23 at 11 am. Thakkar received six calls asking him to part with Rs 10 lakh, and was threatened that his wife would be murdered if he didn't. the last one asked him to bring the money to Colgate ground in Bandra (east). Thakkar, who had contacted the police, reached the place at 10 pm accompanied by a special team of officers and constables.
When the accused approached Thakkar to take the money, the police arrested them. One of the accused, Manoj Vishwakarma, worked as a carpenter in Thakkar's house a few months ago.
