Yesterday saw the first accident on Mumbai's longest flyover, the newly-inaugurated Lalbaug flyover.

At 3 pm, a Maruti Swift car struck two bikes travelling in front of it, dislodging their three riders and sending them tumbling down. As the car was not speeding, no major injuries were reported.

While the two riders on one bike were sent home, the lone rider on the second two-wheeler was taken to KEM hospital to check for injuries.

Officials from Kalachowkie police station said, "The accident took place around 3 pm on the north-bound carriageway of the flyover when the car driver lost control and hit two bikes riding ahead on its left.

The two-wheelers lost balance and fell down. As the car was travelling u00a0at a slow pace, the bikers suffered only minor injuries."
