While the Sahar elevated road connecting Western Express Highway (WEH) with the new Terminal 2 of the International Airport will be inaugurated at 9 am on Wednesday at the hands of Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, the flyover will be thrown open for vehicular traffic going towards the airport at 2 pm and those coming towards WEH from T2 will be able to use the it only after 8 pm on Wednesday.

According to a Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) statement, “The Sahar Elevated road from the Western Express Highway will open for departing passengers from 14:00 hrs onwards. Till that period, all departing passengers will use the existing Sahar road and take the up ramp near Ambassador Flight Kitchen to reach the new Terminal 2.”
The release further states, “For arriving passengers at new Terminal 2, the Sahar Elevated Access Road to Western Express Highway will begin from 20:00 onwards. Till that period, the arriving passengers at New Terminal 2 will use the Sahar road for accessing the Western Express Highway.”
The release adds, “All departure and arrival passengers to Old T2 shall continue to use existing at Sahar Road and current routes until Old T2 is closes down for operations tomorrow afternoon at 14:00 hrs. From 20:00 hours onwards, access to Sahar Elevated Road will be completely operational.”
Adequate signage and additional personnel will be deployed for directing passengers and vehicles for ensuring smooth movement.
