A goldsmith was robbed of about 800 gm of gold ornaments at Bhuleshwar in Kalbadevi in south Mumbai on Friday, police said.

A goldsmith was robbed of about 800 gm of gold ornaments at Bhuleshwar in Kalbadevi in south Mumbai on Friday, police said.


"Four to six robbers wielding choppers and revolvers entered the gold manufacturing unit owned by Bhaneshwar Bagh in a building in Bhuleshwar at around 10.30 pm. They filled their bags with 800 gm to 1 kg of gold ornaments worth about Rs 10 to 15 lakh," said deputy police commissioner Sanjay Mohite.


"The robbers opened fire at Bhaneshwar while leaving the place," Mohite said adding that the goldsmith has sustained injuries on his left thigh and was rushed to the JJ Hospital. Further investigation is on.
