A division bench of Chief Justice Swatenter Kumar and Justice DY Chandrachud also directed the principal accountant general of the Union of India to counter-check the affidavit to be filed by the government and submit a report within four weeks.
The court's order came on a PIL filed by Rajendra Burma and others on the issue of malnutrition deaths in Melghat area of Vidarbha.
