It's not just SoBo that has been fortified for the India-Sri Lanka showdown. Security officials have also beefed up security on the Bandra-Worli Sea L ink (BWSL), as they expect that most travelling to Wankhede to view the match will be using the scenic stretch.
Chief of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) Jaydutt Kshirsagar,u00a0 said, "We know that many people will use the BWSL on Saturday and so proper arrangements have been made. The traffic police will be monitoring the flow of traffic."
The BWSL has been in the news in the recent past for accidents caused because of speeding vehicles and keeping that in mind, the traffic police has also decided to keep tabs on speeding cars and those who break the rules will have to face strict action.
Additional Comissioner of Police (Traffic) Brijesh Singh said, "The traffic police who will be present on the BWSL will monitor the flow of traffic. Those who break the speed limit will have to face strict action." On an average 36,000-38,000 vehicles use the BWSL everyday but the number is expected to increase today.
