Who needs Bollywood when we have real life? In yet another episode that reaffirms truth being stranger than fiction, a hitman who surrendered to the Kolhapur police on Friday has revealed that he had taken 'supari' from a Mumbai-based builder to gun down rival Suresh Bijlani, currently in jail for the 2013 murder of builder Suresh Loharia.
Twist in the tale: According to the hitman, M Bhai Nagori alias Manish, the city builder who contracted him was none other than Loharia's son Sandeep. Nagori said that he was expected to gun down Bijlani on September 27 when he was being produced before the Thane court and the payout was to be Rs 40 lakh and an apartment in Vasai.
On Wednesday evening, Nagori surrendered after his henchman Swapnil Fatale was caught by the Kolhapur police. Nagori has now been remanded to police custody till Monday.
Police says
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vinayak Narale, said, “Nagori has claimed that a year ago, he was contracted by Sandeep to kill Bijlani. Nagori claims that he was in Thane jail where he had met bookie Vinod Asrani. After they both were released, Asrani introduced the two.”
The other side
When contacted, Sandeep said, “This is fabricated to malign my image. I am sure Bijlani is doing this to come out on bail and negotiate with me. I trust police and am ready to co-operate.”
