Crime Branch officials investigating the accident of police informer Dilawar Momin arealso considering the possibility of it being a murder attempt.
Momin was seriously injured when a truck on P D'Mello road crushed the motorcycle he was riding yesterday.
His wife Asma (38), who was travelling with him, died on the spot. Police officials are now investigating if truck driver Baidnath Yadav has any links to the Dawood Ibrahim gang.

"We are probing who Dilawar was working with. We are also looking into the possibility of it being a murder attempt," said Joint Commissioner of Police (crime) Rakesh Maria.
Police sources disclosed some of the recent drug seizures could be attributed to Dilawar.
Last year, high-profile informer Salim Chor and his wife were crushed under a truck. Salim had tipped off the police about a major oil smuggling syndicate resulting in a major seizure.
Dozens of informers had distanced themselves from the gang after Chor's death. Chindi's murder last month and now Dilawar's accident have added to their fears.
